A removable implant-supported overdenture, an efficient way to stablise the denture.
A removable implant-supported overdenture is a permanent solution for missing teeth.
The removable overdenture is firmly anchored to the jaw by permanent dental implants.
The main advantage of dental implants is the prevention of the shrinking of the alveolar bone of the jaw. If all of your teeth fall out, it is essential to replace them.
Consequences of missing teeth
- Sagging of mouth and jaw
- Thinner lips
- Wrinkles around the mouth and neck
Benefits of implant-supported overdenture
- Durable, comfortable and stable
- Can be removed for cleaning
- Improves chewing
- Bone mass is preserved
First, 2 to 4 implants made of titanium are placed in the jaw bone. The jaw bone will then bond with the implants during a process called osteointegration. This process lasts a few months.
After two to four months, the dentist installs Locator attachments on the implants. A removable prosthesis (denture) is then placed on these abutments.
